Colorado man arrested in Internet sex crime sting

A recent arrest has landed a 42-year-old Wellington, Colorado, man in jail for allegations of Internet crimes. The man was the subject of an investigation done by the Littleton Police Department and the Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The investigation, which led to the 42-year-old man’s arrest, involved an Internet sting operation. An undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old girl allegedly engaged in online conversations with the Colorado man. Police say they suspect he may have exposed himself during one or more of the chats.

This case shows how seriously Colorado police officers and investigators take instances of Internet sex crimes. Police in this case used an undercover investigator to go after this man and perhaps others.

Those who have been caught in a sting operation often feel trapped and ganged up on. It may seem like there is nothing they can do to avoid arrest or a conviction. However, that is not true.
